When I am using 這麼 and 那麼 I I never know which to pick. Is there a difference? I would usually say:

1)她姐姐那麼胖, 人們都覺得她有身。
2)她姐姐這麼胖!

1)她姐姐那麽胖, 人们都觉得她有身。
2)她姐姐这麽胖!

  这么is more real and close，那么 is more imaginary and far.
  这么 is more serious than “那么”
  For example:
  你每天这么早起床。(The people who say this means they know exactly when another person wakes up)
  你每天那么早起床。(The people who say this, they don’t know exactly when another person wakes up)
